Welcome....

Over the past weekend in Amherst, several UMASS alumni got together to what will be the first of hopefully annual reunions. The weekend included meeting with current and former Professors (Mileur and Hannahan), the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, attendance at the Alumni Association Tailgating Party before the football game against Northeastern. We had nice conversations about UMass with Chancellor John Lombardi and several administrators.

Alums were treated with excellent football tickets compliments of the Dean of the College of Arts and Science.

Saturday night was a dinner (again someone from the University picked up the tab) at Amherst Brewery Company and drinks at the former "Mike's Westview."

During dinner a list was developed of UMASS students involved in campus politics (both liberal and conservative), the Republican Club, the Minuteman, and other Conservative Groups on campus.

Please look at the list and if you know anyone on it and where they are, post their email address so we can keep in touch.

The nice guy from the University was Lonce Sandy-Bailey. He is a great guy. Professor Mileur introduced him to me. The University really did take care of us.

I hadn't felt welcome at UMASS since my visit with my Mother during high school....

Theresa and Jennifer also thought that was one of the funniest things we ever did. Theresa has photos!

I thought when we amended the motion to give the Young Communist League twenty-five cents (instead of $10,000) to call Gus Hall and tell him not to come.

It was wonderful meeting all of you. Teachers don't often get to talk to former students -- and seeing what interesting lives people are leading was great. Thanks to Greg for organizing it and including us. Jerry and I have been working on a new initiative at the University that the more politically minded will find interesting. Info can be found at
